Competitive Health Insurance Reform Act

 Great news for patients and providers!

H.R. 1418, bipartisan legislation repeals the McCarran-Ferguson Act, passed in 1945, which allowed most health insurance companies to operate outside of federal antitrust laws established by the Sherman Act. Health insurers will now be subject to the same laws that other businesses are required to comply with and that prohibit unfair practices such as price fixing, price gouging, collusion and market allocations that hurt consumers.

Governor Rauner Designates October 2017 as Chiropractic Health Care Month

Governor Rauner has issued a proclamation to designate October 2017 as Chiropractic Health Care Month in Illinois. The proclamation highlights the benefits and importance of chiropractic care throughout the State. The proclamation also recognizes the dedication chiropractic physicians have for their patients. Every year approximately 30 million Americans and two million patients in Illinois visit chiropractic physicians.

U.S. Senate Passes Resolution Honoring ACA’s 50th Anniversary

Arlington, Va.—The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) today announced that the United States Senate passed a resolution, S.Res.72, observing ACA’s contributions to the country’s health care system and recognizing the 50th anniversary of the founding of the association.
