Here is another comparative study...this one between manipulation and disc surgery for patients with radiculopathy 
(pinched nerve) from disc herniation. 60% of the patients in the manipulation group had the same amount of improvement as the surgical group at one year follow up.
Does it surprise anyone that manipulation can help patients with disc herniation?
